MONTHLY MEETINGS

Monthly meetings are held at Boones Creek Baptist Church,304 S. Pickens Bridge Rd Johnson City in the Family Life Center. As you enter the parking lot, the Family Life Center is on your right. It is handicapped accessible. The meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month from August through May at 6 pm. Meeting minutes and other general information is emailed to members in a monthly newsletter about one week prior to the next meeting.

Changes to schedules are posted on the Guild Facebook page. DUES: $20.00 per year (August through July)

The December meeting is our annual Christmas Party and is usually held on the 1st Thursday of the month. There are no meetings in June and July.

FAT QUARTER SWAP

A fat quarter swap usually occurs at each meeting. The month before a color or theme fabric is selected and each member who wishes to participate brings a fat quarter and if you bring a fat quarter your name is entered into the drawing to win the stash of fat quarters.

Show and Tell

Show off your quilts, bring them to the meeting to share with everyone.

SIT & SEW EVENTS

A FREE monthly SIT & SEW is usually held on the 1st Thursday of the month from 10-4 pm at Crossroads Christian Church, 1300 Suncrest Dr, Room C, Gray. Enter the parking lot, stay to the right and drive around the right side of the main building to the back. The access is handicap accessible. Bathrooms are close by. The guild provides an iron, ironing board, cutting table and cutting mat. You can bring your own cutting mats and irons pending space available. Bring your own food.

A Fall “sleep-away” retreat is held on a Friday – Sunday each September. The charge for and details of the retreat are communicated each spring as arrangements are made.

A FREE summer Drive-In retreat is usually scheduled in July, a three-day event on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10-5 pm. You can come as few or as many days as you want and leave all of your sewing paraphernalia (including fabric, machines, etc.) at the location each night. The location will be announced prior to the event. The guild provides an iron, ironing board, cutting table and cutting mat. You can bring your own cutting mats and irons pending space available. No food or drink is provided.

OTHER PROGRAMS/EVENTS

GRAY LIBRARY

A guild member’s quilt is displayed at the Gray Library each month. Members are encouraged to sign-up to have a quilt displayed at the library. A sign-up form is usually passed around at a guild meeting or Sit & Sew. Largest size about full bed size.

CHARITIES

The guild selects a charity or charities to support each year. Blocks or finished quilts are accepted for

donation based on the charity’s specific population needs.

QUILT SHOW

The Guild presents a quilt Show in the fall. All members are encouraged to submit quilts for display. All members are also encouraged to assist in the planning and running of the show.
